Hi

I have 3 cells adding up in a 4th

2 have numbers and the 3rd sometimes has a return value of "SP"

I was look for a formula to add them all up and ignore the 3rd if the cell has "SP" instead of a numric value.

### Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
=SUM(A1:A3) or =SUM(A1,A3,A5) etc.

=if(a3="sp",a1+a2,sum(a1:a3))

=if(a3="sp",a1+a2,sum(a1:a3))

SUM ignores non-numerical or blank cells.

SUM ignores non-numerical or blank cells.

Good call. Always learning, haha.
