Variable array name for Match command

I want to utilize different array Names for a single MATCH command within a given cell. To do this, I had planned to reference a separate cell location which contains the Name of the array that I want to use.
Example: MATCH("ABC",$B$10,1) where cell $B$10 contains the Name of a given block of cells, say ABCDEF. This does not work at all. I get N/A#. If I type ABCDEF into the MATCH command in place $B$10, it works fine. But the next time I access my spreadsheet, I may not want to use cells ABCDEF. I may want to match text found in cells WXYZ. Is there some way to accomplish this? (I am using EXCEL '97) Thank you.
