Various privacy settings questions

Does anyone know what Allow users to receive my News Feed means (in fact exactly what does News Feed mean in the context of this forum, I know what it means on Facebook)?
Also what is "View my Identities"?
I have set everything that I can to Nobody at present until I know exactly what the options mean in the privacy section.

Is there a general guide to using/settings available for XenForo to save asking these questions?
