This is really a VB problem.

I created a form and need the FileSystemObject to open files. I know tht somehwere one can select the add-ins in order for this to work.

Can anyone tell me where that is?

If you have not already done so, maybe you are talking about establishing a reference to, for example, Microsoft Scripting Runtime. To do that, press Alt+F11 to go to the Visual Basic Editor. From the menu in the VBE, click Tools > References, then select Microsoft Scripting Runtime (or whatever references you need), and click OK. Press Alt+Q to return to the worksheet.

Perfect, allthough in the VB code editor, I found it under Project / References.

Just the same, thanks very much. I added this solution as a comment to my code for future references. It seems to simply get "un-checked" once in awhile. No clue why, but now I know how to fix it.

Thanks much

Maybe the Tools vs Project is a Windows or Excel version thing; I'm using 2003 on XP, so a footnote in your comment may be useful for users with varying versions.
