VB simplified

I bought a 633 page book on VB and VBA in hopes of learning something. I find that it will do the most complicated things imaginable. It just won't do simple things. I need to find some simple VB examples. I may learn more from studying simple examples or tutorials than from this book. Most everything I have found so far is way over my head.
