VBA access to FTP and Sharepoint

Hi. I would like to create an excel macro able to download a file from an sFTP location, do some changes to it and save it to a sharepoint folder. I've tried a couple of methods for both tasks but none seem to have worked.
Could you please share with me some basic coding to do this and let me know what the limitations of a business network might have for these not to work? maybe there is some kind of firewall or something similar I need IT to have a look at.
