Additional Controls Dialog Box refuses to display

I have a problem trying to add additional controls to the Controls toolbox

The two methods I've tried

1. Right click on the controls toolbox , click Additional controls

2. Menu, Tools, Additional controls

Neither of the above produce a dialog box containing the list of additional controls to choose from.

I am running Excel 2007

Any ideas would be appreciated

Excel Facts

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
Thanks Andrew,

I did have a little look there before I posted here. However I didnt get a solution, only a few long and convoluted workarounds.

I would like to resolve this, so the search continues

I have this same issue in excel 2003 at work. I have found no solution yet and our IT dept went so far as to reformat my HDD and reinstall both windows and excel. They even upgraded me from excel 2000 to excel 2003 at the same time. Nothing helped.

So, if anyone finds a solution to this they may become world famous.

Still looking myself.
