VBA code to convert imported image to Microsoft Office Drawing Object

Is this possible? I would like to use a macro to convert an image exported from another program into a Microsoft Drawing Object, so that when users save the file they won't get a bunch of error messages. If I right click the image, choose edit, and then say OK on the message asking if I want to convert, this solves the problem -- but I need it to happen with the macro, since I won't be there when this happens in the future.

I tried using the macro recorder, but it doesn't record anything other than that I selected the picture.

And I would just have the macro do a save without showing the error message, but this won't help when users reopen or edit the file later and they aren't using my macro (which basically just reformats the sheet for them so the exported file is pretty and has formulas instead of just values).

Any ideas?

It is a Crystal Report exported into Excel 98-2003, opened with Excel 2010 if that matters.

If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).

it is possible the imported image is seen as a group

have a read here image - Is it possible to use VBA to ungroup an EPS picture to create a Microsoft Office drawing object in Word? - Stack Overflow

sorry if not what you needed

Hi,

thanks for that but this is not what I need.

I have an imported image in MS word. When I try to ungroup it I got the message that it is not a group but an imported image and it can be converted to a ms drawing object.

And I want to do that via macro, because I have to do it in >1000 files :(

No, I didn't. Sorry. I also didn't realize there was a way to check on my really old posts until today, so I apologize for not responding earlier.
