I created the macro below to update an Excel 3 file to an Excel 97 file,
but I would like for it to automatically overwrite the existing file
without prompting the user.
I've searched several sources and can't seem to find anything. Thanks for
your help.

Sub UpdateExcelVersion()
'
' UpdateExcelVersion Macro

'
Workbooks.Open FileName:="C:Impromptu ReportsCropInsEEs.xls"
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs FileName:="C:Impromptu ReportsCropInsEEs.xls", _
FileFormat:=xlExcel9795, Password:="", WriteResPassword:="", _
ReadOnlyRecommended:=False, CreateBackup:=False
ActiveWorkbook.Close
End Sub

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Hi NitherWise

Welcome to the board. :)

To suppress the warning message use Application.DisplayAlerts=False before the line containing the save instruction.

(Switch back to true again afterwards to make sure you continue to receive other messages).
