Hi, hoping someone can shed some light on this query please.

Up until last week I was using a macro to open a worksheet in a directory, which worked fine.
However this morning the macro is coming up with the message.

The strange thing is that the file the macro is opening is a 97-2003 workbook (I checked the properties) NOT an Excel 95 workbook (which are correctly blocked in the Trust Settings). So I have no idea why this error prompt would appear.
Has anyone else seen this before?

thanks

If you mean that you looked at the properties in Explorer, they will report is as a 97-2003 workbook based on the file extension, even if it were saved as a 5/95 workbook.

Assuming you can open the workbook manually, what does:

Code:
?activeworkbook.FileFormat

return in the immediate window?

OK so you are right Rory, looks like it is file type Excel 95. Thanks I have learnt something.

I can only assume that our Group IT have updated the Trust Center settings over the weekend, blocking all Excel 95 workbooks as I have had no issues with this prior to today.
The file I am trying to open with the Macro is automatically downloaded into Excel from another system and the filetype is set within that , and has been for years.
A call to Group IT I think :(
