I have two sheets namely Master & preference. In Master sheet having field 1.Regno 2.name 3.Category 4.Merit. The Preference sheet having field 1. Regno 2. Name 3. Preference no 4.Course.(Note: One student can give many number of course option)

I want to find regno in Preference sheet based on regno of master sheet , if found the course field value will store a variable called m_course.

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.

I did not understand what you meant by the words highlighted in bold above. Could you care to illustrate an example as to how do you come up with the course/m_course variable?
