VBA for OpenOffice

Can excel VBA code used for OpenOffice. I mean if I create a vba code, can it be run for OpenOffice. I just read that there is VBA for OpenOffice. Please see the link below

OpenOffice can run Microsoft VBA code natively, though there are some APIs of VBA that are not supported, or are only partially supported.
