VBA pivot data field

I am trying to insert data/value fields into an existing pivot table with a macro. I want the type of field (sum, count etc), to be specified in a user form (just a named range in a worksheet) and then added to the pivot. How can I do this? Can I reference the named range in the VBA somehow?
