I want to click on the "Download Spreadsheet" link in the following web page using Visual Basic. I've already opened Internet Explorer and signed in with an Excel macro. The web page is at:
http://finance.yahoo.com/p?k=pf_1

Sign in: mistertester2
Password: M8R-hlylld

Please help, even if you know this can't be done with Visual Basic.

Environment:
Windows XP Pro w/SP3
VB6
Excel 2000

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Lionpants,

Thank you for your post.

I can click on the link in your post and get the downlodaded spread sheet fine. However when I copy and paste the link into my macro and .Navigate to it I get "Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."

I have tried to use the Excel drop down menu: "Data/Get External Data/New Web Query" and "Browse Web..." I get the error message "To use this feature, you must have a World Wide Web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer."

Could there be something missing or in error with my Excel2000 or VB6.

If you have any other ideas I would appreciate hearing them.

Thanks for your help.
Bob

You are most likely copy + pasting the shortened version of the URL.

To get the full URL, right-click the URL and choose properties, then put your cursor in the Address field and press Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C, then Ctrl+V into your code.

Lionpants,
I actually did copy the long URL (i.e. the one with all the stock symbols). I originally got the actual URL from looking at the web page source code , which is what you had in your post.

I think I'm having a problem with Excel2000, VB6 or ???

Thanks again,
