How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.

This would put B1 into a variable called Var1

Code:
Var1 = Cells(1, 2).Value

as would this
Code:
Var1 = Range("B1").Value

Hope this helps!

Do you mean content or comment?

Content would be something like:
Range("A1").Value

Comment would be:
Range("A1").Comment.Text
