VBA to copy-paste between cells formulae that contain relative references to other workbooks

Hello, I have been trying to copy a cell's formula into another cell maintaining the relative reference.

VBA Code:
Cells(k, i).FormulaR1C1 = Cells(k+1, i).FormulaR1C1

This works ok if the referenced cells in the formula are in the same worksheet. However, if the referenced cells are in a different worksheet, the formula is copied exactly as it is, i.e. without updating cell references.
Any thoughts?

Sorry, I'm not clear what you mean?

What cell are you copying, and what is the formula in that cell? Where are you copying to, and what formula would you like to see in the destination cell?
