often i create reports that has formulas down to cell 100 but data is only returned in the first 50. whenever i have my macro fill down and select, it goes all the way down to 100. would like it to go down to the last cell that actually has visible data in it. thanks.

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Here is a common code for just that purpose...

Dim lr As Long
lr = Cells(Rows.Count,"A").End(xlup).Row

This finds the last used row# in Column A
Make sure you reference a column that has data, NOT the column you are trying to enter formulas in.

Then use that in a range statement like

Range("A1:A" & lr).Formula = ....

Hope that helps.
