VBA to Split Workbook into tabs/worksheets using data in Column

Hi there,

I have the following code which works wonders as it stands right now (thanks goes to user #VoG ). I would like to modify it so that the data that is populated in the tabs and workbooks does not include Col. A which is the same column that I'm using to extract by. I've tried for a couple hours thinking it would be an easy fix by redefining the Last Col. but it has not worked. I'd really appreciate any help!! Note: I also have another module (Public Type BrowseInfo) that goes with this code.

No luck, Dave :( What I'd doing right now is adding a column in A in my data that is a formula. I want to extract by the data in Col. A and then copy over all the other data B-R. (The formulas I have in A can be put anywhere just as long as the data doesn't show up in the extractions. Right now the error it's giving me is " The sort reference is not valid. Make sure it's within the data you want to sort and the first Sort By Box isn't the same or blank" Any idea what I could be doing wrong?? I appreciate your persistence on getting this to work and all your help and time..

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
I think I get it... Set r = Application.InputBox("Click in the column to extract by", Type:=8) ...when U say U want to extract by data A, U just mean click on column A. U want only ranges B:R copied. So is A now any part of the Sort range?
I don't get this part..

It seems like your transferring the range from B1:whatever to the new sheet A1:whatever. Then your copying B:whatever over top of most of that stuff in the new sheet starting at A2??? Here's another trial. Dave

Oops, I get it but missed the edit..

            .Range(.Cells(iStart, 2), .Cells(iEnd, LastCol)).Copy Destination:=ws.Range("A2")
The first line is the header (B1:Lastcolumn&1), the second is the rest. (B&istart : lastcol&iend)
