Want to write VBA code to delete all content in the range A1:I1000 and at the same time unmerge any cells in the same range (A1:I1000).

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Does the below work for you?

Code:
Sub Macro1()
Range("A1:I1000").Clear
End Sub

How about
Code:
Sub Cleanup()
   With Range("A1:I1000")
      .ClearContents
      .MergeCells = False
   End With
End Sub
If you want to remove formatting as well as just the contents, change ClearContents to Clear
