VBA Vlookup

Hi

I wondered if anyone can help me

Id like to run a macro that looks up values in column A starting in A2 on one sheet and then then looks up the value in the other sheet and returns the value of column 2. On sheet 1 i must be able to define a column number which the macro then looks up to see if the return result from the vlookup table matches what in sheet1. Could anyone help out with this problem?
