I am starting to write a macro, which will consist in the fact that in the sample.xlsx file there will be a button with wb = I will choose the data file and with wbME = template. I would like these two files to run in the background. Did I start the code correct ?

VBA Code:
Sub COREP_ITS()

Dim strPath As String
Set wb = ThisWorkbook
Set wbMe = ThisWorkbook

strPath = selectFile
If strPath = "" Then Exit Sub

MyFolder = "sample_location"
MyFile = Dir(MyFolder & "\CMR - CJ_MINIMAL*.xlsx")
If MyFile <> "" Then
Set wb = Workbooks.Open(MyFolder & "\" & MyFile, UpdateLinks:=0)
Else
Exit Sub
End If
'uzupelniamy
End Sub

Private Function selectFile()
Dim fd As Office.FileDialog

Set fd = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker)

With fd
.InitialFileName = ActiveWorkbook.Path
.AllowMultiSelect = False
.Filters.Clear
.Filters.Add "Excel", "*.xlsm"

If .Show = True Then selectFile = .SelectedItems(1)

End With
