Vetting companies from one coulmn to another

Hi, I am trying to find a way to match company names in one column and verify if they are present in another. Currently this is a very manual process as the company may have some type of character that is throwing it off, such as a "," or ".", or extra characters at the end of the company name. Can someone help me with creating a way to auto check both columns and indicate if the company exists in both columns or if it is unique?
