I really hope someone can help. An Example

Wrksheet 1 Rpt Titles
OCS
RDA
ATED

Wrksheet 2 Titles Run Date
123456OCS 6/27/07
15858ATED 6/28/07
333333RDA 8/8/07

Scope: I need to load the worksheet 2 Run Dates into worksheet 1. There are 100s of reports listed on both wksheets.

The first 6 charactors on Worksheet 2 Names are computer generated, but the last 3-4 charactors reference the report.

I wanted to use vlookup to find the text on wksheet 1, then go to wksht 2 and based on the last 3-4 characters bring the Run data into worksheet 1. I don't know if I can stipulate to find just the text and if so, bring that data in. I tried nesting a vlook into an "if" statement but wasn't too successful. Thoughts anyone?

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
