Vlookup and Pivot table

i set up a Vlookup (=VLOOKUP(A:A,Data!A:B,2,FALSE) the look up works but when i setup a Pivot table with the lookup results all the values in the pivot table show up as 1 and not the value that the lookup has...

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Right click in the pivot table on one of your 1's. Choose value field settings and see if it says sum or count.
