Okay, I have a confusing one for me. I need to perform a vlookup off column A (Store). I need it to always return the last entry. Because duplicate entries in this column are commonplace I need to find a way to differentiate which one I want to reference. In this case I want to do so with the date of entry column...is this possible with a date?...if so how?

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Hi,

Could you get round this by sorting the columns? i.e. sort column A in ascending order, and then column b in descending. This should put the 'latest' occurrence of the number in column A and therefore will be the first result the lookup finds?

Hello Bob, thanks for your reply!

No unfortunately the most recent entry has to to stay to the bottom due to work requirements.

Following up:

Instead of doing a vlookup off a live copy of the doccument I saved a copy strictly for other doccuments to reference...in which case this simple solution works wonderfully!

Thank You!
