Hi,
I'm working with a large amount of data. My Vlookup returns #N/A, and historically I was able to remedy this by using the F2 key in every cell. This works fine for small amounts of data, but I'm hoping there is a simpler way out there for large amounts of data.
thank you,

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
Andrews Utilities has a couple of routines for converting numbers to text and text to numbers as well that work pretty well.

If it's a number formatted as text, what I'll do is insert a column, use the formula =VALUE(cell), drag it down, then copy and paste it back over as a value. This will usually get things working.

Hi Kari
Welcome to the Board

You can use Data>Text to Columns to convert a vertical vector or a whole column text to number or number to text.

Hope this helps
