vlookup help needed

I've two excel sheets. Sheet 1 contains list of near about 12000 dealers,having column titles sr,name,tin no,Addresses 1,addresses 2,addresses 3,addresses 4.

Sheet 2 contains any random 200 dealers amongst those 12000 from sheet 1 but having only Tin no.Tin no are unique and not repeated.
Now in sheet 2 I want to insert name, and address 1 to 4 from sheet1 using vlookup.
Please help.

Unless you want to rearrange sheet 1 you will need to use Index/Match to get the Name (Vlookup requires the unique identifier to be in the left most column of the lookup range).
=INDEX(Sheet1!$B$2:$B$1200,MATCH(A2,Sheet1!$C$2:$C$1200,0))

Column B is your name column
Range “Sheet1!$B$2:$B$1200” assumes exactly 1200 lines on sheet 1
Column C is your tin no column
Range “Sheet1!$C$2:$C$1200” assumes exactly 1200 lines on sheet 1

For the address rows adjust the B in the Range “Sheet1!$B$2:$B$1200” to the address column you are looking up.
