I have a number of tabs on a workbook for daily statistics named '0112', '0212' etc for each day of the month.

Is there anyway to VLOOKUP the data from a specific tab and return to another sheet if the tab name is typed in cell A1 on a different workbook?

Try INDIRECT, e.g.

=VLOOKUP(A2,INDIRECT("'"&A1&"'!A1:B10"),2,FALSE)

Cannot get this to work.

To explain a bit further.

I have worksheet named 'Daily Stats' to which information is pasted each day on the corresponding tab.

I have another sheet called 'Reporting' which people will use and type the date they require information for i.e. 03/12/2009, I have a cell on this sheet which converts the date to the sheet appropriate sheet tab name (in this case '0312')

I need the VLOOKUP on the 'Reporting' Sheet to return the appropriate value from the required tab on the 'Daily Stats' sheet based on the date entered by the user.
