Hi,

I wonder if somebody could help me with a VLOOKUP challenge please.

I am trying to use the formula below to retrieve information from the table below but it only retrieves the content of cell D1 irrespective for which of the 4 H codes I enter in cell A1.
Excel Formula:
=vlookup(A1,C1-D4,2,FALSE)

CD
1H360fdinfo 1
2H360fDinfo 2
3H360Fdinfo 3
4H360FDinfo 4

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong here / how I can get Vlookup to differentiate the similar values in the table?

Any help much appreciated!

thank you,
Iain

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.

Thank you for the prompt reply.....I hadn't appreciated Vlookup isn't case sensitive and that's what I need! Thank you for the links - I'll take a look and mark and either mark as solved or be back in touch!

thanks again,
Iain

Excel Formula:
=VLOOKUP(TRUE, CHOOSE({1,2}, EXACT(A1, C1:C4), D1:D4), 2, FALSE)
