vlookup question

i have the following formula in a cell: =VLOOKUP(GDE!W2079,GDE!W:AA,3,FALSE)

can i replace the "GDE" portion of it with a cell reference (a cell with "GDE"), because i want to repeat this formula multiple times and refer to other sheets within the workbook

=VLOOKUP(INDIRECT(A1&"!W2079"),INDIRECT(A1&"!W:AA"),3,FALSE)

where A1 contains GDE.
