Hi I have a Vlookup formula but if there is nothing in the cell it shows 0 can this be changed to a blank cell? I tried to work out an if formula but with no luck. Thanks

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.

=if(isna(vlookup()),"",vlookup())

OR

=if(iserror(vlookup()),"",vlookup())

you can use any of the above according to your necessity.

You can do this with an "If" formula - but it is annoying. I usually simple use conditional formatting so that if the cell = 0 then the text and background colour are the same - making it invisible..

if you want to do with the vlookup....

=If(VLookup(whatever one you are using)=0,"",Vlookup(Whatever you are using))

You could custom format the formula cell as:

[=0]"";General

What is the exact formula you are invoking?

Thansk all these work but the conditional formating is the easiest in this case
