Hi there,

I'm trying to do a vlookup with colour critera. So i have a specific word say "ball", which has a fill green, but in my grid, the word "ball" exists with an red fill, and each of these have different values associated.
Essentially, I was to fill the value of my cell, by picking "ball" then green fill, to then find the value associated with it in my table. The only way I can think is just a bunch of if and elseifs for the criteria.

Any help?

Thanks

Hi Unlucky-Phase,

You can't use VLOOKUP to find a color without resorting to VBA. If you can set the fill using Conditional Format then you can use the same logic in a VLOOKUP to find the first occurrence of the cell.

It would be easiest if you provide an XL2BB of your sheet with a worked example.
