one of the problems i've got with vlookup currently is that with the usage of "false" at the end or even without false, what happens when you don't have a perfect match of items from 2 spreadsheets, it works fine with the one i have but doesn't pick up near matches which essentially is the same company, but won't transfer the info because its not an exact match.
is there a solution?
without false, to my understanding, it won't pick up or allow ability to pick up a close to match..
could i run another vlookup to pick up almost matching type words or in this case companies,
so eg.
xtek ltd in one spreadsheet
xtek plc in another spreadsheet.
although it doesn't match exactly, is there a way to force it to bring across data from the one spreadsheet to another even if imperfect matches result?
is there a clever formulae with wild ccard possible ith vlookup...
in my case there are heaps of #n/A ..because of imperfect match.
