I need help creating a VLOOKUP. In my workbook I have a tab (rates) that contains a table with contract information and a second tab (current month) that I need for information to pulled into from the rates tab. The rate tab is configured with the headers on line two, column A contains the name of the vendor, column B is the contract effective date, and in columns C through AO contain the different rate codes. Below the headers the data is contained on lines 3 through 10. What I need is when a rate code is entered in column K for the associated dollar amount to be entered in column L. In the monthly tab the name of the vendor is in column A and the data entries start on line two.

Example of what I need to happen: On the monthly tab I would enter the vendor in column A and in column K enter a rate code, in column L I need the dollar amount associated with the rate code to be entered.

Thanks for any assistance, really appreciated

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
In cases like this, it is often hard to fully grasp everything without seeing what all your data looks like.
Can you post small sample of your various data sheets, and expected output?

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.
