Hi there
using vlookup is there a way to have the highest value returned if there is more than one value for a lookup, or will only the first match ever be returned

Not using Vlookup - but you could do it with something like:

={MAX(IF(A1:A8="John",B1:B8))} which is an array formula ( enter with ctrl shift enter)

First time I've come across "MAX" looking forward to tyring it....
