Is there a way to return a variable rather than the #N/A if there is nothing to find? I want to return "0".

If you have a VLOOKUP formula qua structure similar to:

=VLOOKUP(A2,$F$2:$J$40,2,0)

then try:

=IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH(A2,$F$2:$F$40,0)),VLOOKUP(A2,$F$2:$J$40,2,0),0)

=if(isna(VLOOKUP(lookup_value,table_array,col_index_num,range_lookup)),0,VLOOKUP(lookup_value,table_array,col_index_num,range_lookup)
