I'm trying to use the vlookup function. only in the lookup table i am trying to search in isn't on the same worksheet. i know i can refernce this worksheet by typing it's name and adding an exclamation point but if i have a cell with the worksheet name, is it possible to input what's in that cell into the vlookup formula?
for example
=vlookup(porkchops,'cell A4"!G3;J49,4) where the name of the wanted worksheet is in the cell A4
Thanks for your help

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Hi Julien,

Here is what you can try

=VLOOKUP("porkchops",INDIRECT(A4&"!G3:J49"),4,FALSE)

Hope that works for you.
