waterfall chart explanation requested

Hi there,
Someone gave me this real hand way to make a waterfall chart, I mean a chart with stacked bars to show the cause of change of something.
now, the only thing I have to enter are the numbers in B40-B44 and all the graph than automatically updates. I can not show the graph because it is to large but I hope that you know what I mean. how does this thing works. I'm not really in to charts but I would like to understand.

I'm sorry, The correct name is not waterfall, but it is a stock chart open-high-low-close with 4 series of values.
