we can't summarize this field with average because text

Hi All,

I have a datalink to an atomsvc file from which I create a pivottable. In this table I count occurences of text by using filters and a column which contains 'totals'. Because this is text I am unable to summarize as average only as total. I can't change the source data/table. Is there any way around this ?

Please show example file, if possible. Totals in Pivottables don't come to summarize I think.
