I got a challange for people. My business is really dependant on weather, does anyone have any idea if something exist or were to start to create something that would allow me to track weather onto excel.
For example, lets say i sold 1000 sprockets on 6/1/05 which was a hot day of 80 degrees and this year i want to forecast my possible sales (6/1/06) but the weather is predicted to be 60 degrees which will affect me negatively (colder=worse).

Any recomendations on were to start on all this...

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
If the temperature has been assigned some factor that would, by multiplying the 6/1/05 value, give you the predicted sales for 6/1/06, it seems it would not be difficult to do, using a table of temperatures and factors, and employing a vlookup formula.

If you give a few examples, someone can give you a few possiblities.

Welcome to the board.

Consider using regression. Taking the easy way (as opposed to interpreting the statistical output from the data analysis regression method), plot # sold on the Y axis, temperature on the X axis, fit a trendline to the scatter plot, and display the equation for the line on the graph.
