I have an excel spreadsheet that I originally created in Excel 97 and worked great.
It would do a web query and get a stock price from yahoo.
Here's the query:
WEB
1
http://finance.yahoo.com/d/quote.csv?s=MSFT&f=l1
I would use the 'get external data' function and assign this query to a single cell, and it would retrieve the current price for MSFT.
The problem is that I'm trying to use this spreadhseet on a computer that has Office 2007 and it is getting the data just fine, but then it's wiping out the next cell down in the column. I had my own table of different stocks and now cells are getting overwritten with blanks.
I read some where that when excel does a web query, it gets a table, and it needs to know where the table ends, so it adds an extra space.
Is there any way to get this to work like it did in 97?
