Please can you tell me what Application Events fire when I rename a sheet?
I was expecting Sheetchange to fire but it does not seem to

Excel Facts

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
There are none, as far as I know.

The SheetChange event is for changes in the cells on that sheet, not the sheet name itself.

<strike>AFAIK, Kristy is correct, no events fire when sheets get renamed. You'd have to create a static or module-level array of sheet names and compare it during some other event like SheetSelectionChange or SheetActivate and so forth.</strike> {...nevermind - Tom's got it covered...}

Ok, to specify: there are no *built in* events that will be triggered on a sheet name change. :)

Thanks for all the help. The constancy of the codename property is exactly what I was looking for. I have a collection which contains an object for each sheet and each object contains several properties for the sheet. By referencing this collection by the codename I can do what I want and handle new sheets, deleted sheets and sheet name change. Many thanks
