What is a Compile Error?

Good Day to everyone!
I Have researched this Forum and found the answer i was looking for.
I am attmepting to create the "SpellNumber" Function to change Numbers into text.
It almost worked. when I use the macro I get an error message

Compile Error:
Sub or Function not defined

About halfway down through the code in the area
' converts a number from 100-999 into text
seven lines below that the "getDigit" is highlighted.

What does this mean?
How do I fix?

Excel VBA appears to be looking for a sub/function called getDigit.

Do you actually have a function/sub called getDigit in your code?

Can you post the code you have?
