What "ReadOnly" attribute does in Dir function? Seems it does nothing.

What happens if I add read only attribute to dir function?

Seems all txt files are for example read only by default (however I can edit them) and so adding vbReadOnly doesn't do anything.

All files are listed already with vbNormal. So what extra files can be accessed by adding vbReadOnly?
