What vbNormalFocus or vbHide does (by Shell function for example)? Seems has no effect in practice.

I executed all the options for Opening NotePad, options 1-4 and 6 and each worked as expected and differently.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

VBA Code:
' Specifying 1 as the second argument opens the application in
' normal size and gives it the focus.
Dim RetVal

RetVal = Shell("C:\WINDOWS\NOTEPAD.EXE", 1)    ' Open Notepad.

Thank you. The only thing I don't understand is that what is the difference between vbMinimizedFocus and vbMinimizedNoFocus? Max and min refers to size of the window, but what is the meaning of focus? They seem to do the same thing, hence it confuses me about the meaning of focus. Thank you very much for your answer.
