whats cloud in office 365?

I downloaded office 365 (Desktop version) and I installed it. I have been using it since. My question, what does Cloud mean here? Why Microsoft saying this is cloud version when I downloaded the software and run it from my computer? I thought cloud means the software is installed on the cloud and I use it via the browser like Google sheet for example. Thank you very much.

Are you talking about OneDrive?
This is similar to google sheets, with some limitations than the desktop app of excel.

Login to OneDrive with your Microsoft or Office 365 account.

No it is not one drive. If you go to office.com you will see desktop download.

It does not! I just checked office.com. I do not know, I had an impression it is cloud .. i heard or read that so I thought it is cloud. Thanks all for the clarification.
