What's the best way to do this?

I have a workbook for keeping track of songs in my CD collection.

The columns are Song Title, Artist, Category 1, Category 2.

So 4 main columns.

I also have another category (lets just call it Grouping) that has about 36 different "groupings" which would be similar to genre (Top Songs of the 80's, Top Country, Dance Songs, etc)

I have a separate sheet for each of those groupings.

I want to have 1-click hyperlinks at the top of each page that will take me to each sheet.

So here's my problem:
Across the top I need 3 rows of 12 columns. Each cell will link to a page in the sheet. I know how to do that.

But below I want to only have 4 columns.

I can do this using merge and center but I've been told this isn't the best way to do it. Do you have any other suggestions?

It will end up looking something like this

Link1 Link2 Link3 Link4 Link5 Link6 Link7 Link8 Link9 Link10 Link11 Link12
*****Song***** *****Artist***** ****Category1**** *****Category 2*****

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
Honestly, I'd keep all your data on one worksheet and use AutoFilter just to display the info your require.

While auto filter works, that's not the answer I need. I need a way to have 1 click access on every sheet.

This file is not just for me but for lots of others who need the fewest clicks possible.

You can accomplish this by using Shapes. Go to the Drawing toolbar and insert an Autoshape, like a square.

Type your link text into the square, and set the font to blue so it looks like html.

Now right click the shape and set the Hyperlink options.

Make 12 shapes, and drag + resize them to fit.

Chris, I forgot to add that I've already done that. It does work but it makes the file size HUGE!

It's 12mb with shapes as links and only 3mb using text links.

So another thing I'd like to do is keep the file size down.

Chris, I just went back and looked at it again.

I had previously used Smart Art shapes. That took the file size from 3mb to 12mb

I deleted all those and just used basic shapes instead. That only made it 5mb total. I can live with that. Thanks for the tip!
