Where did the Macro recorder pop-up go?

Probably a very stupid question, but for some reason when I now record macros the little icon pop-up showing the Record and Stop button has disappeared. How do I get it back? I have cheated by putting in a Visual Basic toolbar on the main menu which gets round the problem at the moment, but it would be nice to get the original back.

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
It loses it's context sensitivity if you close it with the X while recording. To get it back, record a macro and while recording show it by right clicking any Toolbar and choosing Stop Recording. Click the Stop button to close it.
