I have data in column A and column B. Data may or may not be in both columns. In column C I would like to compare data in Column A and B. In column C, I would like it to say data is in column A Only or data is in column B Only or in Both columns. Is there a way to do this?

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
Are you wanting to know if for example A1 and B1 both contain data and if it is the same, or is it specific data you are looking for? Give us some sample data to work with, please.

Say you have a list of names in column A and another list of names in column B and you can sort both columns but because data is not exactly the same you can not compare by looking across. So you need to know if names are not on both lists.
