Will VB mess with my links?

I have a workbook with several sheets all having multiple Pivot Tables. All PT's are linked to a table in an Access database. I want to be able to move these files around to different folders without having to manually change my connection string for each PT. However, I also have all subsequent PT's linked to the first PT's PivotCache on the first sheet to increase performance. I can vb my way through a loop to alter my connection strings (if and when I move files to a different folder) but will this screw up my linking all PT Caches to the first PT Cache?

Anyone??

Thanks in advance..

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
I just did a quick test by creating 2 pivottables from the Northwind.mdb, the second based on the first. When I changed the connection string of the first pivot table to another version of the database in a different folder, both pivot tables' connection strings changed. So I think you will be OK.

You can get the connection string by typing something like:

?Sheet1.PivotTables(1).pivotcache.connection

in the VBE immediate window and pressing Enter.

So when you changed the connection string to a different database (diff version) your second PT Cache was still linked to the first or did it change to having it's very own Pivot Cache?

I use a utility called "Pivot Play Plus" which rocks..

As I thought I said, changing the first pivot table's connection string also changed that of the second (linked) pivot table.

Thanks again.
